Today we are going to explore how to remove stains from your carpets at home. No matter how careful you are it’s almost impossible to not stain a carpet once in awhile. And it’s not like you can just remove the carpet to remove the stain. So once you have a stain you need to deal with it especially things like coffee and tomato sauce that can leave really bad stains if not attended to.

Here are a few helpful tips on how to do DIY stain removal without too much effort.

 Coffee Stains Removal

With coffee stains the first thing you want to do is soak up the excess coffee using a clean sponge or some tissue paper. If you don’t have access to any of these just use a kitchen towel. But for the next part a sponge is preferable.

To actually remove the stain what you want to do is combine a mixture of vinegar and water. Then take the sponge and squeeze out most of the mixture. Then squeeze a little bit of the mixture leftover in the sponge onto the stain. Then let it sit for about 10 minutes. Once the time has passed you want to use the sponge to dab against the stain. Never rub the stain of this can potentially push the stain further into the carpet fibres.

Ink Stains Removal

Ink stains are slightly different from dealing with coffee stains. For ink stains you want to use alcohol. You can use commercial cleaning alcohol or distilled alcohol. To deal with the stain you can soak the sponge with the alcohol and then like with the coffee stain dab against the stain.

Once again remember not to rub the stain as you will push the ink stain further into the carpet. Eventually the stain will disappear and to dry the spot on the carpet use a normal vacuum cleaner to suck out the excess water in the carpet.

Pet Urine Stain Removal

Every pet owner that has carpet in there house knows that it’s just a matter of time until they will have to deal with an ‘accident’.  If this never happens to you then you should consider yourself one of the luckiest people on the planet and buy a lottery ticket, now!

The first thing you want to do is take care of the mess with a sponge soaking up any excess just like you have with a coffee stain. Yes, not fun! But it needs to be done.

Then most ideal way to actually remove the stain is to get some store-bought pet urine cleaner. The reason for this and the reason that a special type of cleaner is used is because pert urine will smell if you don’t remove the odor.

If you skip over this step you may potentially have the carpet smell quite bad. And the longer you leave the smell the harder if will be to remove.
